I am a disciple of Jesus residing in the quiet beauty of Palm Springs, California. My days are anchored in the radical simplicity of the Great Commandment: to love God and to love my neighbor. In this season of life, I have found that my greatest work is not found in complex projects, but in the "empty me, fill me, use me" prayer of a servant.
I take refuge in deep prayer and meditation, embracing the desert landscape from the mountain heights to the low valleys. It is in these quiet depths that I listen for God’s lead, allowing the Spirit to direct me where I am needed most within my local community.
If you are seeking direction or healing, I encourage you to find solace within your own local church. I found that returning to the faith of my baptism allowed me to heal old hurts and encounter Jesus again in the most intimate way. We are often born into our families and faiths for a purpose; there is profound grace in returning with a new level of understanding and gratitude. If you are new to faith, I simply encourage you to reach out to a local community and begin a Bible study or engage in religious education.
Jesus often challenged religious leaders to look beyond rigid rules. When they refused to honor God's love, He simply walked away.
Your first allegiance is to your relationship with Christ, not to a building or an institution. I have found that honoring my connection to God sometimes means moving on to find where the Spirit is truly active. Trust your intimate walk with Jesus and have the peace to seek a community that supports your spiritual wholeness. Our destination is the Creator, and the path is one of freedom.
I believe faith is a relationship to be lived, not a destination to be reached. If our paths should ever cross in person, please reach out so we may spend a moment in prayer together.
Your brother in Christ,
John Kardol
